After many years, Google has agreed to transfer the Duck.com domain to their search rival DuckDuckGo.

DuckDuckGO CEO Gabriel Weinberg stated that the new domain would make it easier for people to use the company's search engine and remove any confusion for people looking for the service.

Google obtained the Duck.com domain back in 2010 when they bought the company On2 Technologies. This company was previously known as The Duck Corporation, hence the domain name.

DuckDuckGo and Google have not released any details about the exchange or how much money DuckDuckGo may have paid for the domain.

Duck.com now redirects to the DuckDuckGo search engine.
