Uber & Lyft Approved To Operate In Regina
Regina city council has finally approved Uber and Lyft to begin operating in the city after months of setbacks.
During a city council meeting, last night councillors voted unanimously to approve new bylaws which would allow for Uber and Lyft to begin operating in the city.
Regina city council also asked that a report is put together one year after ride-sharing services arrive to determine their impact on the city.
Regina is not the first city in the province of Saskatchewan to approve ride sharing. Saskatoon approved ride sharing earlier this year, and Uber began operating in Saskatoon on February 5th.
It's unclear when ride-sharing apps Uber or Lyft may start operating in Regina, but its expected to begin sometime in March.
