Roll Up The Rim Is Going Digital
The next season of Tim Horton's "Roll Up The Rim" is about to get a whole lot more digital as the popular Canadian coffee chain is looking to add a digital component to their yearly promotion.
According to Alex Macedo, the Tim Hortons President, its time for the company to add a modern and fresh approach to the promotion.
“It’s become clear to us that it needs a modern and fresh approach to engage our guests in a stronger way going forward. A team is working to reboot the program for next year, and that will include a seamless digital integration,” said Alex Macedo, Tim Hortons president
This isn't the first time Tim Hortons has tried to make Roll Up more digital. Back in 2013 Tim Hortons tried an additional promotion called "Rockin RRRoll Up Roulette" which allowed customers to download the Tim Hortons app and spin a spinner to win additional prizes including coffee for a year.
Just last year Tim Hortons tried a similar promotion called "Scroll Up To Win" but prizes were not as elaborate as they were in the past.
It will be interesting to see how customers respond to the new digital versions of the Roll Up The Rim promotion. Will this get people to download and install the app? Its hard to say, but as more and more fast food chains switch to ordering through their apps its a good way for Tim Hortons to promote their newly improved app to the masses.
