Instagram Working To Tackle Management Of Multiple Accounts
Instagram is looking to tackle the hassle of dealing with multiple Instagram accounts by creating a new "Main Account" feature.
This new Main Account feature would allow users to link up several Instagram accounts into a set of one and then designate one as the main account. Users would then be able to use this main account to log in to the service and gain access to all the other linked accounts.
This would allow businesses to efficiently manage their business account and personal account all through the same login. It would also help with teens who have both a public and private Instagram account.
Code for this feature was recently discovered inside an alpha version of the Instagram App:
“Quickly and securely log in to all of your Instagram accounts with one ID and password . . . Make one of your accounts your main account and use it to log in to all of your other accounts at once . . . Your accounts will remain separate but logging in will be fast and simple . . . Anyone who has the password for your main account will have access to the accounts connected to it.”
There is also the possibility that Instagram will roll out a new system that would allow users to use their Instagram login information to log into other websites online, similar to what Facebook has already done tied their "Login with Facebook" developer tool you see implemented on many popular sites.
