Google today announced on their blog that they would be increasing the monthly cost of their G Suite applications for the basic and business editions by 20%:

“Over the last ten years, G Suite has grown to provide more tools, functionality and value to help businesses transform the way they work. The one thing that hasn’t changed over this time is the price. Today, we are announcing two incremental list price updates to reflect this value.” - Google

These new changes will go into effect starting April 2nd. Basic users the rate will increase by $1 from $5 a month to $6 a month. For Business users, the price moves from $10 to $12 a month.

For businesses who pay for the more expensive Enterprise version of G Suite, the price will not be changing at the current time.

This change also brings the G Suite more in line with the cost of Microsofts Office 365 Business Premium Plan which currently costs $12.50 a month.
