Tesla could be getting closer and closer to announcing new versions of the Model S and Model X vehicles as Elon Musk teases future vehicle capabilities.

“It will not be long before we have a 400-mile range car” - Elon Musk

Elon Musk recently talked about the future Tesla vehicles saying soon a vehicle will have over 400 miles of range in its battery pack. Currently, the Model S & Model X carry the largest batteries capable of just under 400 miles of range on a single change. An update to these vehicles has been rumoured for some years as the interior and exterior of the vehicles haven’t changed for a number of years.

The new Model S & X are expected to get an interior similar to the Model 3 & Y, which is considerably simpler than what we currently see in the S & X. Along with a new interior and refined exterior is a larger battery pack.

The 2020 Tesla Roadster is expected to have a battery pack capable of 1000km on a single charge. This battery could be used inside the new S & X to increase their range also.

Tesla is expected to announce the new all-electric pickup truck this summer, and it's possible we could see a sneak peek at the new S & X models at that time.
