As of today, Eero is officially part of Amazon as the acquisition has officially closed. Amazon has still not released any information on how much they paid for the mesh wifi router company, but they are expected to work with them in the future.

Dave Limp Amazon's SVP of devices and services has stated that Amazon is committed to leaving Eero's privacy policy in place. Going on to state that Amazon has no plans on changing anything with Eero and Eero will run as an independent company within Amazon for the foreseeable future.

This isn't the first time Amazon has bought a company and let them continue operating in the same way. Just last year Amazon bought Ring, the popular video doorbell and security system company. Since the acquisition Ring has remained pretty much the same. The only change has been Ring devices are now available through the Amazon online store and also work better with Amazon Alexa assistant.

“There are a lot of things we can do with Eero to make the smart home even easier,” said Limp. “Our job over the next six to 12 months is to start showing you proof points of what we can do.”
