DJI Announces Mavic 2 Controller With Display
DJI has announced a new accessory for its Mavic 2 line of drones, the new DJI Smart Controller which features a 5.5 inch Full HD integrated display, no longer will users have to attach their own mobile device to fly the drone.
DJI has made a similar display in the past for their larger Inspire line of drones, but this is the first time for the smaller Mavic line.
The new controller features a 5.5-inch display capable of displaying full HD resolution video and photos streamed right from the drone. The display is also twice as bright as mobile screens which makes it easier to see in direct sunlight. The display runs a version of the Android mobile operating system allowing the use of the DJI Go 4 app, along with DJI Pilot and other third-party apps available through the Google Play Store. Battery life on the controller should last around 2.5 hours when in use.
The DJI Smart Controller goes on sale today for $650 USD, but DJI has also announced bundles for the Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic 2 Zoom which will include this new controller if you don't already own a drone.
