Apple Begins Collecting Taxes On Canadian iTunes Purchases

Apple customers in Canada should note that as of Monday the company began charging GST, HST & PST on TV, Movie, Music and Audiobook purchases within Canada.

In a statement, Apple lists a change in Canadian legislation has led to them changing.

"As the world's largest taxpayer, we respect the important role taxes play in society," Apple said. "Due to recent changes in Canadian legislation and the growth of our business, sales tax will now be charged on purchases of TV, movies, music and audiobooks." - Apple
