Amazon Announces Purchase Of Eero
Amazon has announced they have purchased mesh wifi router maker Eero for an undisclosed amount.
In the press release Amazon's SVP of Amazon Devices and Services Dave Limp stated they were incredibly impressed with the eero team and went on to state:
”From the beginning, eero’s mission has been to make the technology in homes just work,” said Nick Weaver, Co-Founder and CEO of eero. “We started with WiFi because it’s the foundation of the modern home. Every customer deserves reliable and secure WiFi in every room. By joining the Amazon family, we’re excited to learn from and work closely with a team that is defining the future of the home, accelerate our mission, and bring eero systems to more customers around the globe.”
Eero has been a highly popular mesh network wifi solution for the home and one that's incredibly easy to set up. As someone who bought one a few years ago, I was astonished by how easy it was to set up and how the app was able to manage all the complicated tasks that come with creating and maintaining a wifi network.
Eero joins other companies like Ring who have been bought by Amazon over the past few years in an attempt to make Amazon a maker of many essential pieces of smart home devices.
